Looking back in colour.

A look at the clothes in colour.

Writing the old fashioned way.

Writing on slate boards and using pens that needed to be dipped into ink wells.  Times have changed!

Washing and ironing.

Washing and ironing:  Doing things the old fashioned way certainly provided a challenge and quite a bit of fun on our trip.

Scrub and scrub.

Use those muscles!
Scrub harder.

Washing machines would be welcome here.

Our trip to Pataka.

 The way we were:
A great trip to Pataka to take part in a range of hands on experiences.  Everyone was able to imagine at least a little bit of how life in New Zealand was a very long time ago.  Many thanks to the parents who accompanied us and helped with the activities.

Dressing up for the group photos was a highlight for many of the children.  They did a great job of following the instruction not to smile.
