Eco Warriors

Well done Brooke representing our class and the Middle Syndicate at the special day for Eco Warriors. Our class really enjoyed hearing about the activities you did there and seeing the mouse trap you helped to design and build.

We are looking forward to hearing more about how we can all support the Eco Warriors,

Kahoots-Thank you Mrs Campbell.

Mrs Campbell came in and taught our class how to take part in a Kahoot. As well as knowing how to answer the questions everyone had to work co-operatively with their partner and decide on their tactics-speed or  checking for accuracy? Sometimes it's a very tricky decision.

You can see the enjoyment and engagement in this activity.

Cricket skills.

Cricket and ball handling skills.
On Thursday afternoon we had a 45 minute session to develop bat and ball skills. It was a great session where everyone had to use throwing, bowling, catching and batting skills. It was amazing to see how quickly all these skills improved.

Listening to instructions.

 Aiming and throwing.
Bowling at the wickets.
Determination!

Lots of fun learning and showing a variety of skills.

Room 13 winners!

Library Week.

We were so pleased to have Emma and Oliver both winning prizes in the library week quizzes.
Friday's winner.

Thursday's winner.

Class of the Week.

Here we are the Class of the Week, supporting the Wellington Hurricanes.

Go Hurricanes!

Middle School Uniform Day.

Getting in the mood for the Rio Olympics! The middle school had a lot of fun, coming to school in sporting gear and joining in some fun team games. Even the rain couldn't stop us. The smiles say it all.

What a class! All ready for action.

The Fairest of them All.

The Fairest of Them All.

Another great show comes to Hutt Central School.
As you can see lots of lively action. After the show we discussed what message the actors were trying to communicate. Here are some of our ideas.
Talk to a person. Don't be glued to electronics.

Forgiveness to each other-Tayla.

I thought of fairytales. Also do not go on the internet all of the time because it is not good for you-James.

Get fresh air outside and be safe on the internet.

They taught you to be friendly-Jordan.

Be safe on social media. You never know what might happen-Lucy.

Just be friends-Juliet.

Don't go on the internet to make friends-Alex.

That fairest means something other than beautiful-Emma.

Don't be attached to the internet, communicate with each other-Emma.

Looks don't matter. Try to have a nice personality-Lucy.

There was certainly a lot of critical thinking going on while we watched the show!

Welcome to Term 3.

A belated welcome to Term 3.  The first 3 weeks have raced by with learning and extra activities filling every day.  A great start to the term with everyone settled and eager to participate in learning.

Week 1.  Our trip to the Hutt Library.  We always do lots of learning activities there, as well as choosing books.

How lucky we are to have this valuable resource in walking distance!
